Hello DRA Parents and Guardians, I hope you had an excellent week. We are super excited to announce that we are partnering with the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) to offer parenting classes starting April 7. “PIQE engages, empowers and transforms families by providing the knowledge and the skills to partner with schools and communities to ensure their students achieve their full potential (https://www.piqe.org/).”

The 8th grade panoramic photo will take place on 3/11/2022 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at SHHS football field bleachers. All students must wear BLUE polo. Photos are $15.00.

We received one COVID-19 test for each of our students. If your child attended school today, Friday January 7, he/she will take a test with them today. Please test your child before returning to school on Monday January 10. We recommend you wait until Sunday evening. If your child did not attend school today and you need a test, please come by the office before 4:30 today or come to the library window on Monday January 10.

Due to the rapidly increasing COVID cases in Riverside County, we have asked for our dining night to be apeither CARRY OUT or DINE IN. The manager has approved that change - and requests that you do the following to have your order count towards our fundraiser: 1) Call the restaurant at 760-341-5600, place your order for CARRY-OUT and give them ONE of the attached flyers when you pick up your order. 2) Go to the restaurant at 71-743 Hwy 111 in Rancho Mirage and dine-in. Give your server one of the attached flyers when you order. 3) If you use the Old Spaghetti Factory APP to place your order it will NOT count towards our fundraiser 4) The restaurant will actually honor our fundraiser flyer from 11:30am-9pm Thank you for your willingness to participate in our student-planned fundraiser and for staying safe during this time.

Dear Desert Sands Unified School District Parents & Families: There has been a disturbing trend of vandalism and theft in schools across the nation fueled by social media challenges that encourage students to engage in destructive behaviors within schools, especially restrooms.

MESA is a program that promotes Math, Science, and Engineering in collaboration with the local University of California at Riverside.
