Dear Desert Ridge Academy Families, Congratulations on another successful school year. I am sure, much like me, you are super busy attending all the different celebratory events for your children, how exciting!

We are in the last stretch of this school year, 19 days to be exact! Nevertheless, the year is far from over, students have a lot of curriculum left and accomplishments to celebrate. Let us finish the year strong and together.

Dear Desert Ridge Academy Families, I hope you had a wonderful and restful Spring Break! It is hard to believe we only have 6 weeks left of this school year, yet lots to do, learn and look forward to. Let’s finish this year strong and together! Summer School Interest has been extended until the end of this week, Friday April 29th. Summer school will be held from June 7-24 from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm, Monday through Friday (Except: June 20th-Holiday). Lunch and transportation will be provided...

Once again, I would like to request your support regarding a recent “trend” we have been experiencing- “ Egging.”Students are bringing easter eggs full of confetti and breaking them all throughout campus with and without consent of students and even adults. Please speak with your child regarding the inappropriateness of that behavior. It does not follow our AIR values, particularly Respect. Please know easter eggs are not allowed, will be confiscated and if caught breaking them will result in lunch detention and possibly suspension.

Dear Desert Ridge Academy Families, Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during Friday's evacuation of students and staff due to a gas leak at Shadow Hills High School. District crew worked over the weekend to safely correct the situation and school will resume tomorrow morning, Monday, March 28, as normal.

Hello DRA Parents and Guardians, I hope you had an excellent week. We are super excited to announce that we are partnering with the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) to offer parenting classes starting April 7. “PIQE engages, empowers and transforms families by providing the knowledge and the skills to partner with schools and communities to ensure their students achieve their full potential (https://www.piqe.org/).”

Hello DRA Parents and Guardians, We have an exciting and eventful month for our students and community! Today’s visit to Shadow Hills High School (SHHS) was an enormous success. Our 8th graders demonstrated their maturity and high school readiness by showing Accountability, Integrity and Respect. All students were ready with their correct clothing, wore their school lanyard and ID, followed directions, respected each other, staff and property. I am extremely proud of them, DRA leads the way! Friendly reminder, if your child is attending a HS other than SHHS, please visit their website for all transition information.

It is hard to believe March is here and the end of the school year is practically on us. It is exciting to see most of our students and all of our staff return after such difficult times due to the pandemic. We are still working on supporting our students socially and emotionally as well as academically. Please continue to reach out for support.
